About Our Artists

Mark of the Potter has four house potters:
Matt Henderson, Laurey-Faye Dean,
Betsy Ledbetter and Rachel Staggers.

Ester Lipscomb and Mary Towers Weese have left us.
But, we still have a number of their creative,
functional pots left around the shop looking for good homes.

Even though our potters share the same glaze palette,
each artist has their own unique style and mark.

To help our customers know what is
home-baked, we mark our pots with a little yellow dot.

For variety and to support our local clay community, we buy from

another 30-40 artists from around the southeastern U.S. region and some from out of the region.

All of the pottery at Mark of the Potter is handcrafted in the U.S.A.

And, we do Wedding Registries!  Click here for more information.

Below are some of the wonderful outside potters that we support!

For information regarding the availability of work by the following artists,
please call Mark of the Potter at (706) 947-3440.

Special thanks to all the friends, neighbors and visitors locally and from around the world.  Mark of the Potter would not be the same without you!

All of our pottery is food safe using only lead-free glazes and clays.  Microwave safe and most are oven safe too.  They can be washed in the dishwasher or as some customers prefer, hand washed.
