"I'm so happy to be here at Mark of the Potter!  My first visit here was in 1969, I was nine years old and fell in love with clay and this wonderful place."

Laurey-Faye's journey in clay began in 1973 when she began studying with Ursula Vollrath on the shores of Lake Lanier.  She followed that with a BFA in 1982 from the University of Georgia in Athens, study at the Visual Arts Center of Alaska in Anchorage from 1982-'84 along with time at AA Haywood Community College, Clyde, NC in 2002.

Many know Laurey-Faye from her past, and continued, work as the potter of her own Balsam Mountain Pottery.  A studio which has been an outside source for creative, quality pottery for Mark of the Potter for many years.

The images here are snapshots to give you an idea of the style and some of the items that Laurey-Faye typically does.  They do not necessarily represent what we currently have in stock.  There may be a special order or two mixed in here as well.
So it is important to remember that the inventory is always changing.

New work comes out of the kiln every four weeks or so depending on the current firing schedule.

All of our pottery is food safe using only lead-free glazes and clays.  Microwave safe and most are oven safe too.  They can be washed in the dishwasher or as some customers prefer, hand washed.

Thanks to all of Laurey-Faye's fans and to the friends, neighbors and visitors locally and from around the world.  Mark of the Potter would not be the same without you!
